September 2011 News Letter

Time to let you know what’s happening - - -

Update on the ministry:

We planning to hold a “Five Days of Healing” seminar and it is being planned by Dave and Cathy Loney, former students of the 5 day seminar. They are holding it in their home which is in the country with a large home and beautiful country around it.  The dates are noted under the menu, "Seminars".

Our website will keep you informed about all upcoming seminars including the "Curses and Deliverance" seminar.

What's Happening in Brantford

The things that are happening for the “March Break Camp” really kept us excited. The way everything has been falling into place, basically means God is in this program.  You can check it out at www.marchbreakcamp.com then click on /history for more information.  They had a “Back to School” event end of August, where they and a number of co-operating Churches put on a carnival; giving out clothes, backpacks, school supplies, free hair cuts for guys and girls, all the time sharing the gospel with these special intercity children and the adults that accompany them.  The lady who heads up the Brantford children services was so excited she sent an email to all the local services in the Brantford area declaring that it was so great to see the churches and this ministry working together to bless a community. The carnival was staged at three different locations in Brantford. Their dream and next goal is to have a building in the area of Brantford where the greatest need is, so they can have weekly follow-up and discipleship for the campers who accept the Lord, but also to reach into the homes to bring to them the Christian family values that are so desperately needed. Donations and monies from the sale of the property that are coming into Jacob’s Well Ministries are being used to support this camp. We so appreciate all those who have continued to support this ministry.

For those who keep in touch, thank you, it’s always encouraging for us, especially when we hear from someone who attended a seminar and just wants to say ‘thanks’. We are always blessed and amazed by the great God we serve, who fulfills His covenant, proving once again His faithfulness.

Blessings, our love and appreciation,

Howard Ellis

January 2012  News Letter

Another year older and a bit wiser we hope, and lots to be thankful for. We are so grateful for what the Lord continues to do.

First off, Margaret and I are doing well, good health, enjoying a bit of leisure but still involved with some seminars, counselling and speaking at our home church occasionally.  We did an Alaska Cruise in August to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and an open house to allow friends to come and say congrats and other nice things. We also took a trip to Lancaster PA to take in their theatre presentation of the story of Joseph. The Sight and Sound Theatre does an excellent and professional job, we recommend their work highly. You will find them at www.sight-sound.com on the web.

About the ministry.  Dave and Cathy Loney did a 5 Days of Healing seminar about 3 years ago, their lives were changed and so they invited us to do the seminar in their nice large country home just east of Guelph. So we did one in October. They hosted 8 people, we taught, sang, ministered and came home with much encouragement and joy. Now they are planning on doing another one end of February. You can get the information under ‘seminars’ or call them at 519 763 6495 if you or someone you know who could benefit from this seminar. They are doing it under the blessing and covering of their home church in Acton, but Margaret and I are running it for the present until they learn and feel comfortable to do it themselves.

I had been asked to teach in October at the YWAM base in Grenada. I accepted, but later felt something in my spirit said that I was not to go. Not knowing what to do, I left it with the Lord, then one morning the moment I awoke, He spoke to me and said, “Ask Michael to go for you”. Michael and Colleen Pelckmann worked with us for 8 years, the last three years leading the seminars, doing the teaching and ministering and doing a great job. So when I asked him, he prayed about it, felt it was right and he went (Colleen has a business so couldn’t go) and he connected with them and had great ministry. While he was there ministering I had my infected gall bladder removed, there is no way I could have gone, and God knew that. I have fully recovered, just in case you are wondering.

The Curses and Deliverance seminars are going well, with the cooperation and blessing of our home church giving us the space to do them there. We do them once every two months,   April 21 is the next one.

Dave and Linda Ellis have just opened a Jacob's Well office in Brantford to look after the work they have been doing there for the past 7 years. The way the ministry is expanding in that city is amazing. The cooperation they receive from the churches and community organizations just seems to increase each day. They are at present reaching children from 4 different housing areas of the city, and the response continues to grow. They are now getting ready for the March Break Camp for the children from these areas. Last year they had 173 attending with over 100 volunteer staff and they are expecting at least that many again this year. Your prayers and financial help for this work is so appreciated. The seminars that Margaret and I do support themselves, most of the donations given to the ministry will go to the work in Brantford.

This new year will have many surprises, some good, some not so great, but with the Lord’s hand of protection on us we will all make it through. He didn’t promise sunshine for every day but He is still there through the storm. We cannot always feel Him, but He promised never to leave us or forsake us. He said that His yoke is easy, His burden is light. That life is available for us all.

For those who have stood with us in prayer and finances, thank you.

May the Lord continue to minister His life into you, our blessings and love,

 Howard and Margaret Ellis
